Our focus this week was aperture.
I first chose something with text (it was easier for me to see the blur when I could compare a distinct feature). I didn't even think about the fact that the bottles were see-through (or that we'd look like alcoholics), but you can see that the writing on the first bottle is clearer than the writing on the bottle furthest away.
I then moved on to baby shoes (Side note: I am crazy about OBSESSED with baby shoes. Trice doesn't even wear them, but I can't stop buying them. It's a problem. I should get help...)
We were supposed to take three pictures using 3 different apertures. I should have had the blinds in his room up to help with lighting, but one step at a time, people!
Now that I have the critiques for these photos, I am going to take them with the suggestions she gave and will re-post them!
This was Benny's practice picture:
Once we practiced this with still objects, we were supposed to take a photo of a single subject with blur in the background. Like I said, Trice does not make this easy. He passed out after a long day today, so I jumped on the opportunity before I was completely out of daylight. I took probably 50 pictures and was disappointed when I put them on the computer and saw none of them turned out like I had imagined.
This one really melted my heart and I kept coming back to it, so it's what I posted:
