{27} Weeks

Ready to head to our Bradley Classes!

How far along: 27 Weeks
Weeks to go: 13 give or take a few!
Baby is the size of: Cauliflower
Gender Prediction: Girl
Weight gain: ??
Symptoms: Tossing and turning all night, hip pain
Mood: Nothing too exciting this week.
Maternity clothes: Literally outgrowing practically all of them. Yikes.
Cravings: Pasta. Yes, please.
Aversions: None.
Sleep: Not sure what this is?
Movement: So much movement. I love this part!! Okay, okay.. I mostly love all of it.
Labor Signs: Just Braxton Hicks contractions.
Best moment this week: Bradley classes - so wonderful. I'd love to share more info with anyone who is interested. Nick and I spent our first night both of us away from Trice. While we didn't have time to do anything other than the classes, we did enjoy a few meals together and watched a movie in the hotel.
Worst moment this week: Migraine. My every Tuesday migraine returned. I got a break from them over Christmas break .. so clearly it's something in my work environment causing them. I can't really fix that though..
Miss anything: Nothing this week really.
Trice's Thoughts this Week: Constantly kissing baby. Every once in awhile he'll have a meltdown and tell us, "I not want baby to come out. Baby stay in mommy's belly." but then 10 minutes later, he's begging baby to come out and play.

{28} weeks

How far along: 28 Weeks
Weeks to go: 12 give or take a few! This is serious, folks.
Baby is the size of: Large Eggplant
Gender Prediction: Girl
Weight gain: 25 lbs
Symptoms: My hips - ouch. Peeing every 5 minutes. Starting to trip over my own feet (mostly because I can't see them)
Mood: Pretty good. I'm my usual cry baby self, but that's not a pregnancy-related thing. I also am starting to stress a little over the fact that we have nothing ready or bought for this babe! Ah! I'm feeling so excited about giving birth this week (is that a thing?) But really, I am feeling so empowered and positive about this being a healing birth experience. I know I can do it!
Maternity clothes: Literally outgrowing practically all of them. Yikes.
Cravings: Milk. I could drink a gallon a day. But I stick to a quart. ;) Also, give me all the smoothies in the world. And still a huge fan of eggs.
Aversions: Not so much.
Sleep: Not happening. Like at all, actually.
Movement: Ohhhh yes! I love that I can feel body parts. Kicks are so strong these days!
Labor Signs: Just Braxton Hicks contractions getting stronger!
Best moment this week: A wonderful appointment with our doctor. We are SO blessed to have a doctor who truly cares about his patients. He is compassionate and never makes us feel like we're crazy (and trust me, I'm crazy). We were there for over an hour and he answered every single one of my questions, shared encouraging stories, etc. I could have cried. I'm feeling so much more at ease as delivery approaches thanks to him! I'm so happy he is on board with us and supports our decisions.
Worst moment this week: Tdap booster - not for wimps. Not at all.
Miss anything: Just comfy clothes!
Trice's Thoughts this Week: "Baby can't go to Hyvee with us because he has stinky feet. If he breaks his feet, I will have to carry him because he won't be able to walk... but who is going to push the babies cart?" One night one of his stall excuses was, "I can't sleep because I miss baby." He gives baby a hug and kiss every night. One day he put a dinosaur on my tummy and then leaned in and yelled, "No kicking dinosaur, baby!" -- baby went crazy.. so either baby likes his voice or they are going to be annoying each other for life. ;) One night he also asked me, "Does baby pray in your tummy?"
Appointment Notes: Heartbeat - 156. Baby is doing great, I'm still healthy and doing well. We start our every 2 week appointments now! Woohoo! At the next appointment, I'll sign all my paperwork for the VBAC.

I know I eliminated the belly button question, BUT I just wanted to say that anyone who sees my belly button at this point will have nightmares. It is horrifying. It looks like a tumor or one of those chocolates that goes on top of pb blossom cookies. Sick. Nasty. Ew.

Just for fun...

{26} Weeks

How far along: 26 Weeks
Weeks to go: 14 give or take a few!
Baby is the size of: Scallion
Gender Prediction: Girl
Weight gain: ??
Symptoms: Those hips are a killin' me! I'm tossing and turning a lot at night. Legs seem to fall asleep easily.
Mood: Kind of a roller coaster. I'm emotional about Trice not being an only child anymore, how I'm possibly going to give them both the attention they deserve, depressed about my best friend moving away, excited, all of the above.
Maternity clothes: But seriously .. who outgrows maternity clothes?! I even busted out the post partum underwear today!
Cravings: Sweets .. per usual.
Aversions: Meat/Chicken just don't really sound good.
Belly button in or out: You could probably just call it an alien..
Sleep: A little rough this week!
Movement: This baby is a mover! I'm loving it. I love seeing it move across my tummy .. such a wonderful feeling.
Labor Signs: None.
Best moment this week: One day Trice woke up from his nap and wanted to snuggle (yes, please!). We then spent the next hour just sitting on my bed reading books and doing puzzles. It was Heavenly.
Worst moment this week: Just going back to being busy .. work, small group, AWANA, meetings .. it led to a migraine!
Miss anything: Trice fitting on my lap to read books or lying on my lap to brush his teeth .. and my jeans and t-shirts.
Trice's Thoughts this Week: Baby is HIS baby. He's ready for baby to come out. He's very curious about when he was a baby.

{24} Weeks

How far along: 24 Weeks
Weeks to go: 16 give or take a few!
Baby is the size of: Ear of corn
Gender Prediction: Girl
Weight gain: 19.6ish lbs. (Nick and I forgot by the time we got home..)
Symptoms: Insomnia has arrived!
Mood: Amazing! I'm pretty sure that's just because Nick has been home to help out all week!
Maternity clothes: Pretty sure they won't fit soon..
Cravings: MILK
Aversions: None.
Belly button in or out: You could probably just call it an alien..
Sleep: A little better this week!
Movement: We were sitting on the couch, and I grabbed Benny's hand and put it on my belly to feel the baby kicking. All of a sudden, he looked at me with this mortified expression. I looked down and sure enough - you could see and feel a body part sticking out. It was kind of cool, kind of creepy, and kind of made me squirm. We are thinking it was a leg...
Labor Signs: None.
Best moment this week: Snuggling with Trice every morning, New Year's Eve with some friends, Benny having several days off (loved it!)
Worst moment this week: ???
Miss anything: Trice fitting on my lap!
Trice's Thoughts this Week: The night of our appointment, he prayed telling Jesus thank you for baby and then made the heartbeat sound. Oh my heart.
Appointment Notes: Heartbeat 154.
